    • Cont. Generation 3: Christopher Henry (3) Benner (John Henry (2), Andreas (1) was born 24 May, 1757 in Braintree, Mass, and died 8 Sept., 1842 in Dennysville, Washington Co., ME. He married Thankful Garnet (Garnett/Gardner) 21 June, 1777 in Abington, Mass. She was the daughter of Daniel (Garnett/Gardener) and Alice Garnett/Gardener). She was born abt 1758 in Braintree, Mass. and died 27 Mar. 1845 in Dennysville, Washington Co., ME.
      Notes on Christopher Henry Benner: Christopher had two terms of service during the American Revolution. First in 1775 and then again in 1780. Information on his service is contained in Vol. 1, page 944, "Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailers in the Warof the Revolution."
      Notes for Thankful Garnet (Garnett/Gardener). She was baptized in 1758. The Dennys River Historical Society Newsletter, Vol. 12, No.4, October 1999 states that Thankful's brothers, "Daniel, Calvin, Laban and Joseph also came to the Dennysville area about 1790. That Thankful was the wife of Christopher Benner, a Revolutionary veteran who is said to have crossed the Delaware with Gen. George Washington. While working for Judge Theodore Lincoln, Christopher lived in a log cabin on Lot 38 at the narrows of Denny's River (later the site of the Reynolds-Gardner house. He and his family moved to Edmunds in 1822."

I go back to Christopher Benner, my great, great, great, great grandfather. The line goes from David (Me), Claude "Duke", Sr., Howard, Jr., Howard, Sr., John, Jr., John, Sr., Christopher. And his father being John Henry Benner (Johann Heinrich) from Germany.
